Miela graduated in 2017 and has been shooting goals ever since leaving MBC. Currently studying at Duke University, USA, she has just been named in the All Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman Team.

Shannon studied a Bachelor of Secondary Education. She signed an Australian Sevens contract in 2014 and co-captained the Australian Women’s Rugby Sevens team to win Gold at the 2016 Olympics. Shannon received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2017. She co-captained the Commonwealth Games Australian Women’s Sevens team in 2018 winning Silver.

Donna graduated in 1991. She and her late husband Nas started an eco-safari business, Maasai Wanderings in Tanzania providing employment for locals, supporting village schools, offering food and education to local children, all aimed to help break the poverty cycle. Donna’s commitment to the people of Tanzania, unwavering.

Dr Charker holds a PhD from Griffith University and a Class 1 Honours degree in Psychology, majoring in statistics. She is the Deputy Secretary – Corporate Cluster at the Department of Jobs and Small Business. Prior to this, Dr Charker has held many senior positions within the Australian Government.

Brooke Connell studied Science and Law at UQ and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland after receiving her BSc/LLB. She practised in Australia before moving to New York where she was admitted to the New York Bar and practised for just under nine years, before moving back to Australia in late 2014 to work for Velocity.

Mrs Herbert is committed to service in the community, having given her time consistently over the past 35+ years. With a master’s in social work, she provides counselling and support to children and their families in crisis in both a professional and voluntary capacity.

Melissa was one of the youngest to be awarded Master of Photography through the AIPP. She has achieved multiple state and national awards and honours in her chosen field of photography as well as for her success in business, and her photographs have been exhibited and published nationally and internationally.

After a life-changing Catholic mission trip to Tanzania, Melissa joined the Canossian Daughters of Charity Order at the age of 20. In 2002, Melissa completed her Bachelor of Education and became a sister-in-training, working with the homeless and socially isolated elderly people, and was nominated as Young Queenslander of the Year.

Barbara Belford graduated from QUT with a Bachelors of Applied Science majoring in Microbiology. Following graduation, Barbara worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at QML Pathology, before moving to the USA to accept a hybrid position at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston as a Clinical Scientist in their Microbiology Department.
